I have enjoyed a career in directing and editing, learning with the inspirational Meiert Avis and Brian McCue spanning Dublin, London and Los Angeles. I began editing music videos, first for local bands and demos, then onto some more internationally recognised acts. From these beginnings, I moved on to the realm of documentary, editing numerous subject areas and styles, ranging from football, Gaelic sports, dance, food and hospitality. In tandem with this, I was honing my craft as a commercials editor, a distinctly different type of editing with different demands in diplomacy and negotiation. I also developed a relationship with various promo producer/directors in our national broadcaster. In between these projects, I also edit the stuff that goes in between – the programs themselves. Due to the constraints of a short reel, I haven’t used any of this material.
